IMG_5109.jpg. The majestic Lakeview Hotel as it looked in 1941. The hotel was constructed by Tom Robison for David Glendenning. Glenndenning was appointed postmaster in 1868 and ran the post office out of the building. Glenndinning retired in 1898 and his daughter Min ran the hotel until her own retirement in 1938. The hotel was subsequently purchased by David Coffee who converted the former lobby into a grocery/meat shop. The place eventually became known as Davey Coffey’s Store. Coffey closed his store in 1967 and the hotel was converted into apartments, the function which it presently fills. Image courtesy of J. Hall (October, 2004).
