45. Woodrow Dougan Brown . Son of George "Sterling" Brown & Mary Anne Milligan. Born 6 Sep 1916 in York Mills, NB. Died 10 Sep 1998 in York Mills. Buried in Cherry Mountain Cemetery, Harvey Station.

 

    Lived on a farm in York Mills, and had four children:   Carol Ann, Eric David, Elaine Jean and Larry Edwin.

 

    From Harvey Lionews, Sep 1998:

    BROWN:    A funeral service was held for Woodrow Dugan Brown of Murray Road, Harvey Station at St. Andrew's United Church of Canada, Harvey Station.   Rev Phillip Kennedy officiated at the service.   A tribute to Woodrow was delivered by Bev Weeks.   Hymns were sung by the ecumenical choir with Margie Grieve as organist.

 

    Woodrow was born at York Mills, a son of the late Sterling and Mary (Milligan) Brown.   He was a farmer and a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Royal Canadian Artillery from 1942 until 1946.   He was a member of the Royal Canadian Lelgion, McAdam Branch 7 and Cherry Mountain Masonic Lodge.   Woodrow was active in his community, serving as a member of the hospital benefit day committee, the Harvey Community Hospital board and the Harvey Outreach board.   His death occurred at his home on September 10, 1998.   He was 82.

 

    He is survived by his wife, Margaret F. (Boudreau) Brown; two daughters, Carol Brown, Ashton, Ontario and Elaine Merritt (Wayne) Columbia Falls, Maine; two sons, Larry Brown (Myrna) Harvey Station and Eric Brown (Anita Mullin) Miramichi City; a sister, Ida Swan, Harvey Station; a brother, George Brown, Harvey Station, seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

 

    Woodrow was predeceased by a sister, Bernice Maxwell, a brother, Stanley Brown and a grandson, infant Dereck Bright.

 

    Interment took place in Cherry Mountain Cemetery.   Members of the Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies Auxiliary of Branch 7, McAdam attended the funeral service and formed an honor guard at the church and cemetery.   A Masonic service was held by Cherry Mountain Lodge at Swan Funeral Home the evening before the funeral service.   Pallbearers were Allison Gass, Bernard McCann, Joe Fletcher, Vernon Lister, Royden Messer and Lawrence Swan.

 

    He married Margaret Frances Boudreau, 14 May 1946. Born 14 Mar 1917 in NS. Died 27 Feb 2005 in Wauklehegan Manor,   McAdam. Buried in Cherry Mountain Cemetery, Harvey Station.

    Margaret Frances Brown

    Margaret F. Brown of Harvey Station passed away February 27, 2005 at Wauklehegan Manor, McAdam. She was born in Nova Scotia in 1917, a daughter of the late Eloi and Neomise (Pothier) Boudreau. Margaret was a member of St. Andrews United Church of Canada, a 4H leader of the Sewing Club for many years and a member of Unity Chapter 35, Order of the Eastern Star for more than fifty years.

 

    She is survived by two daughters, Carol Brown, Ashton, ON and Elaine Merritt (Wayne), Columbia Falls, Maine; two sons, Larry Brown (Myrna), Harvey Station and Eric Brown (Anita), Miramichi City; three sisters, Zelma Casey (Edwin), Dartmouth, NS, Geraldine Boudreau, British Columbia and Valerie Bernson, Connecticut; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

    Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Woodrow D. Brown in 1998 and four brothers, Andrew, George, Frederick and Louis Boudreau.

 

    Resting at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station with visiting hours Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrews United Church of Canada, 2350 Route 3, Harvey Station on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bob McDowell officiating. Interment will be later at Cherry Mountain Cemetery.

 

    Pallbearers will be Donnie Brown, Stephen Brown, Allison Gass, Vernon Lister, Blair Watson and Lawrence Swan.

 

    A tribute service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:45p.m. by Unity Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

 

    For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Margaret, the family has suggested a charity of the donor's choice.
