Died 2 Jan 1900, Flume Ridge, Charlotte Co., N.B.). Died, 27 Jan 1851, Bocabec, Charlotte Co., N.B.). Sandy and Rachel spent their entire married life on Flume Ridge.

From newspaper obituary, (1926):

Mrs Alex Cleghorn
The community at Flume Ridge was shocked to learn of the death of Mrs Alex Cleghorn which occurred at her home at Flume Ridge, Sunday at noon, September 19.
Mrs Cleghorn had been in poor health for the past three years. Last April she was stricken with a stroke of paralysis from which she never recovered.

She bore her lingering illness very patiently. She is survived by her sorrowing husband, five sons and four daughters, Joseph and George of Flume Ridge, William and Alexander of St. Stephen, Neil of Lawrence Station, Mrs Wilbert Johnson at Lawrence, Mrs Chester Babcock of Newton, Mass., Mrs Roy Christie of Harvey and Mrs Fred Milliken who was with her through her long illness. She was of cheerful disposition always ready to help others and devoted to her home and family. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and had a large circle of friends. The funeral took place from her home Tuesday at 2:30 and was largely attended. The service at the house was conducted by Rev Wm Armstrong of Waweig. Her favorite hymns were sung. The flowers were beautiful, including a pillow from the family, also one from her daughter, Mrs Babcock, whose health prevented her fom coming home.

The remains were laid in her last resting place at Brockway cemetery. The pall bearers were her sons, Joseph, George, Will and Alexander. Much sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones in the loss of a kind wife and loving mother.

Mrs Cleghorn was sixty-five years of age and of her own family a sister and a brother survive, Mrs George Acheson and David Breen both of St. Stephen.

They had the following children:
86 i. Joseph Wellington "Joe" Cleghorn
87 ii. George Frederick Cleghorn
88 iii. William John "Willie" Cleghorn

90 v. Ethel Charlotte Cleghorn
