79. Charles Cleghorn. Son of John "Joak" Cleghorn & Margaret Ann Piercy. Born 8 Mar 1884 in South Tweedside. Died 15 May 1946 in Harvey Station. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer.

The funeral of the late Charles Cleghorn took place on Friday, May 17, with prayers at the house and service at the Knox Presbyterian Church, Harvey. There were many beautiful flowers. Chief mourners were Hazen Cleghorn, Vincent Cleghorn, Irvine Cleghorn, Thomas Cleghorn, Elvin Cleghorn, Edmund Holt, Lorenzo Holt, Lloyd Rideout, Thomas Messer, Henry Messer, Robert Messer, Gates Piercy. The pallbearers were Malcolm Bell, Russell Bell, Gray Morecraft, Harold Cleghorn, Albert Shaw and Ward Embleton. Interment at Harvey Cemetery. It was largely attended by friends and relatives.

Died at Harvey Station
The death occurred yesterday at his home in Harvey Station of Charles Cleghorn, after an illness of two years, aged 62 years. Deceased was born at Tweedside and resided for the greater part of his life at Harvey Station where he carried on farming until his health failed. He was a man of sterling character, respected by all who knew him and his death will be regretted. He was a son of the late Mr and Mrs John Cleghorn, and is survived by his widow and 10 children, Mrs Lloyd Rideout, Fredericton; Mrs Lorenzo Holt and Mrs Edmund Holt, Prince William Station; Frances, Edna and Glenna of Fredericton; Eunice at home; Irvine of Prince William Station; Vincent of Harvey Station, and Hazen, at home; several grandchiidren and two brothers, Thomas Cleghorn, McAdam and Elvin Cleghorn.
The funeral takes place tomorrow afternoon with prayers at the house at two o'clock followed by service in Knox Presbyterian Church and burial mde in Harvey Station Cemetery.

He married Margaret Jean "Maggie" Messer, daughter of Thomas Messer & Jane "Janie" Hood, 29 Jun 1910 in Charlotte Co., NB . Born 12 Jun 1893 in Tweedside. Died 24 Jan 1988 in MacLean Memorial Hospital, McAdam. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

Margaret J. Cleghorn
The funeral service for Margaret J. Cleghorn, 94, of Harvey Station, was held from Swan Funeral Home, with Rev. David Dewar officiating.
Born in Tweedside, she was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Thomas Messer. She was predeceased by husband Charles, and daughter Mrs Lloyd Rideout (Ruby).
She is survived by six daughters, Frances McMurtrie, Edna Charters of Fredericton, Annie Miller, Prince William, Hazel Holt, Magaguadavic, Mrs Kenneth Cook (Eunice), St. Stephen, Mrs Gretton Grant (Glenna), Ottawa; three sons Irvine, Vincent Hazen of Harvey Station, James Cleghorn of Harvey; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were six grandsons, Russell, Wayne and Lawrence Cleghorn, Charles and Frank Holt and Mark Cook. Burial at a later date in the Harvey Community Cemetery.
