21. James Embleton. Son of William Embleton & Jane Runchman. Born 5 Apr 1836 in Eng. Died 23 Oct 1901 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer.

    PANB #F15552, p. 432:   James Embleton and Mary Lister married on Apr 15, 1861 by Samuel Johnson, witnesses Margaret J. Embleton and Edward Lister.

   After Mary's death, Jim married Isabell Little.   He   lived on the farm known as the Tom Lister farm, near Frog Lake, and had five children from his second marriage.   Complete information on this family begins on page 101 in the book, "The Little Family of Harvey Settlement 1786-1992" compiled by Janet Swan Watson, Brenda Saunders Swan and Jocelean Swan Hall.

   He first married Mary Lister, daughter of Nicholas Lister & Margaret Heughan, 15 Apr 1861 in Harvey Settlement By Rev. Samuel Johnson. Born 1842 in Scotland. Died 6 Jun 1861 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

   He second married Isabella Little, daughter of David Little & Margaret Ann Herbert, 4 Apr 1866 in Harvey, York Co., NB By Rev. Samuel Johnson. Born 20 Jun 1845 in Harvey. Christen 27 Jul 1845 in Harvey By Rev. Daniel McCurdy. Died 18 Mar 1905 in Harvey.

    Witnesses to marriage were Joseph Embleton and Jane Little.

22. Cherry Jane Embleton . Daughter of William Embleton & Jane Runchman. Born 16 Aug 1838 in Harvey. Died 19 Feb 1883 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    She married John Little, son of John Little & Janet Heughan, 30 Dec 1857 in Harvey Settlement By Rev. Samuel Johnson . Born 24 May 1828 in Scot. Died 16 Feb 1893 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer.

    John came to Harvey a few years after his four older brothers had settled in the area, and like his brothers, he too was involved in quite a number of land transactions.   The 1861 Census shows he owned or occupied 60 acres of improved land and 70 acres unimproved land; had two horses, 3 milch cows, 7 other neat cattle, 17 sheep, 2 swine, slaughtered 400 lb. pork; produced 150 lb. butter, 20 lb. cheese, 44 lb. wool, 10 tons hay, 300 bu. oats, 40 bu. buckwheat, 12 bu. timothy, 100 bu. turnips and 100 bu. potatoes.

    John and Cherry Jane were married by Rev. Samuel Johnson, in Harvey.   They were farmers and had eleven children.   For further information on this family, refer to Chapter 8, page 287 of "The Little Family of Harvey Settlement"

    She married William George Patterson, son of William Patterson & Sarah Ann Jane Dibblee, 17 Apr 1867 in Harvey, York Co., NB By Rev. Samuel Johnson . Born 1 Jan 1843 in Harvey. Christen 11 Mar 1843 in Harvey By Rev. Daniel McCurdy . Died 26 Dec 1902. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer.
