     Copied from newspaper obituary:

McAdam--The death of Mrs Mary Hay, age 92, occurred at her home in McAdam.   Her health had been failing for sometime, but she was up each day to within a few days of her death.   She was one of McAdam's oldest and most respected residents.

Mrs Hay was born at Harvey and came to McAdam to live about 50 years ago.   She was a member of St. Paul's United Church, a quiet person of retiring disposition, but very kind, charitible and very hospitable.   Her interests centred in her home and family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Hay, and is survived by one son, Earl Hay, and one daughter, Gertrude Hay, both of McAdam.   A second son, Frank, predeceased her; one sister, Mrs Fred Embleton, McAdam and one brother, James Wilkin, Harvey also survive, and six grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

     Burial was at Harvey.

She married Robert Andrew Hay, son of John "Jack" Hay & Margaret, 4 Nov 1884 in St. Paul's Church, Fredericton By Rev. A. J. Mowatt. Born Approx 1856 in Harvey. Died 24 Dec 1893. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Factory Hand. Religion Presbyterian.

Witnesses to marriage were Nicholas D. Lister and Margaret Wilkins.

In the 1861 Census, Robert was 4 years old and his sister Jessie Levina was 6 years old, therefore he perhaps was born approx. 1856.   However, the date of his birth on the gravestone in the Harvey Settlement Cemetery is 1854.
