3. Martha Brown. Daughter of James Brown & Martha Reed. Born 3 Mar 1805.

 

    Lived about one mile from Blyth.   Two children:   Sarah Reed, born approx. 1840, and Thomas Reed, born approx 1843, a butcher.

 

    Much of the information on Martha and her family was taken from a letter, dated 26 Mar 1865,   written by Martha's daughter Sarah Reed to her cousin Alexander Wilson, Harvey Settlement.

 

    She married Forester Reed.

 

    They had the following children:

  20   i.   Sarah Reed

  21   ii.   Thomas Reed

4. James Brown. Son of James Brown & Martha Reed. Born in England.

 

    James lived at Lane End, Morpeth, England, and had two children:   Frances Jane and William.

 

     Copies of letters written by James and his wife Frances   dated 27 Jan 1865, 17 Jul 1867, and 29 June 1871 to their nephew Alexander Wilson ( son of James's sister Mary, wife of Robert Wilson) in Harvey Settlement were located in 2001, and much of the information on this family was contained in these letters.

 

    He married Frances. Born in England.

    They had the following children:

  22   i.   Frances Jane Brown

  23   ii.   William Brown

 

5. Jonathan Brown. Son of James Brown & Martha Reed. Born 1811 in Pottery Brook, England. Died 4 May 1891. Buried in The Parish Church Of St. Mary The Virgin, Morpeth. Occupation Farmer.

 

    Jonathan had a very large farm one-half mile from Morpeth on the N. turnpike road to Edinburgh, and had four children:   Thomas (b. 1854, d. 17 Nov 1906, age 57), Sarah (d. 4 Sep 1915, age 64), Mary Ann (d. 2 Apr 1929, age 72) and Jane (d. 20 Apr 1924, age 66).   All the children were at school in March 1865.

 

    He married Mary. Born Approx 1817. Died Jan 1884. Buried in The Parish Church Of St. Mary The Virgin, Morpeth.

 

    They had the following children:

  24   i.   Sarah Brown

  25   ii.   Thomas Brown

  26   iii.   Mary Ann Brown

  27   iv.   Jane Brown
