77. Agnes Mary "Ag" Little. Daughter of Robert Little & Mary Murray. Born 10 Jul 1863 in Cayuga, ON. Died 19 May 1895. Buried in Riverside Cemetery, Cayuga.

    Agnes was the second wife of Will Nablo.  Will's first wife was Magdalena Sitter who died in childbirth, as did her baby, in 1883.  After the death of Agnes, he married a third time, Annie Tate, who died 22 May 1964, at the age of 93 years.

    Agnes died at age 30 yr. 10 mo.  Agnes, who was called "Ag", is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Cayuga, near her parents.

    Agnes and Will had two children:  Alex and Nora.  (Will and third wife, Annie Tate, had one son, Harold W., 1899 - 1987.)

 

    She married William "Will" Nablo. Born 1861 in Rainham Twp., Ont. Died 26 Jan 1938. Buried in Kohler Cemetery. Occupation Farmer.

    Will was the eldest son of Jacob Nablo Sr. and Elizabeth Schneider.  Jacob came from France in the early 1850's with his parents, brothers and sisters.

    Shortly after their marriage, Will and Agnes purchased a lot of land about one mile from the Nablo family farm, on the corner of Kohler Road and Irish Line.  Will continued to farm there the rest of his life.  He played a role in the development of North Cayuga Township.  He was appointed first Township Road Superintendent in 1925.  It was under his supervision that the stoning and gravelling of township roads began in 1926.

 

    Obituary copied from Haldimand Advocate, 3 Feb 1938:

    WM NABLO

    Shortly after listening to the morning devotions on the radio on Thursday morning, January 26th, William Nablo, well-known resident of North Cayuga township, suffered a heart attack and passed away.  Mr Nablo was in his 77th year and had been actively engaged in farming until about a year ago.

    Well-known throughout the township, Mr Nablo had made many friends.  For several years in his earlier life he had been a member of the Township Council and also Reeve.  Later he served as Superintendent of Roads for the Township.

    Mr Nablo was an active member of Kohler Evangelical church and for many years was teacher of the Men's Bible Class of that church.  Surviving are his widow, two sons, Alex, of Calgary; Harold, of Toronto, and one daughter, Nora, Mrs Fraser Robins of Nelles Corners and five grandchildren.

    The funeral was held from his late home on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 30th to Kohler Evangelical church.  Interment was in the Kohler cemetery.  The pallbearers were Messrs. Andrew Kindree, William Wilson, Amos Birk, Ernest Smith, Irvin Wardell and Jerry Callaghan.
