Newspaper obituary - 1950:
Centenarian Dies At Harvey Station
Mrs Ellen McCullough Was Born in 1849--A Well Beloved Woman.
Harvey Station, Feb. 16 -- Harvey Station's oldest resident, Mrs Ellen McCullough, passed quietly away at her home following a brief illness.

One of a family of ten children, Mrs McCullough was born at Harvey Station, a daughter of Andrew and Margery (Robison) Atcheson, on July 15, 1849. Her long life was spent in this community where she endeared herself to old and young by her genial disposition. Her ready wit and keen memory made her stories of early life in Harvey most interesting.

During the war years she busied herself with knitting and quilt-making for the Red Cross and until a short time before her death continued with her knitting and daily Bible study. As a girl she was a noted weaver and many blankets were woven by her in the early years of Harvey's development.

Mrs McCullough was married on August 29, 1871 to William McCullough, a native of Charlotte County, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. Samuel Johnston, the first Presbyterian minister in Harvey. Of this union 10 children were born, three sons and seven daughters. Four children died in early childhood and a son, Harry, of McAdam, met a tragic death in a railroad accident in 1923. Mr McCullough died in June, 1915.

Mrs McCullough was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Woman's Missionary Society. She is survived by one son, Andrew McCullough of Harvey; four daughters, Mrs Gertrude Brewer, Portland, Maine; Mrs Andrew Gray, Mrs Charles McNally, and Mrs Erwin Dougherty, all of Waltham, Mass; 25 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren besides several nieces and nephews, including Mrs David G. Taylor, of San Antonio, Texas.

The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon. Following prayers at her late home service was conducted by Rev. A. Sproule in Knox Church with the choir under the direction of Florence Coburn singing "The Sands of Time Are Sinking," "I Want To Go There", and "Abide With Me." Pallbearers were grandsons, Grey, Edgar, Charles and Allan McCullough, Willis Moffitt and Wilbert Burrell. Flower bearers were Thomas Messer, Eugene Godkin and Jack Coburn. Interment was made in Harvey Cemetery. Among those attending the funeral were Mrs Brewer and Mrs Dougherty, and Mrs McNally who was also present at her mother's death.

At the time of Mrs McCullough's 100th birthday last July, a party was held in her honor when all of her family and most of her descendants were present. Messages of congratulations were received from King George and Queen Elizabeth, Lt. Governor D. L. McLaren and Premier J. B. McNair.

They had the following children:
264 i. Peter Sterling McCullough
265 ii. Marjory Annetta McCullough
266 iii. Isabel "Gertrude" McCullough
267 iv. Dora Lorena "Rena" McCullough
268 v. Andrew Ernest "Dan" McCullough
