Distribution of the surnames Heughan and Haughan in the United Kingdom in 1881 and 1998. In both 1881 and 1998 the Haughan surname was most common in the western borders on the English side. Heughan in contrast was almost exclusively found in the western borders on the Scottish side. By 1998 the surname was too rare to plot.
