17. Andrew James Wandless b. c.1845 Fredericton. Son of Henry Wandless and Mary Grey. On Fredericton ratepayers list of 22 July 1870 ( NB Reporter, 24 June 1870). Carpenter at home with mother 1871. In 1881 Carpenter at St Mary's, York County, with wife Rebecca, 25, and Harry, 8. He died in Boston in 1896.
The New Brunswick Reporter (Fredericton) , 2 September 1896, reported:
Thomas WANDLESS received a telegram last eve. from Boston announcing the death there Monday of his brother, Andrew J. WANDLESS. The dispatch says he died suddenly, but no other particulars have yet been received. The deceased was about 50 years old and has been twice married, his first wife being a sister of Contractor Wm BUTLER, Gibson (York Co.) and his second wife, who survives him along with four children, is an American lady. In addition to Thomas, there are three other brothers, all living in the vicinity of Boston, viz: William WANDLESS, Charles WANDLESS and Robert WANDLESS. The surviving sisters are Mrs. George HAZEN, this city; Mrs. Charlotte BOONE, Boston, now visiting friends in St. Mary's and Miss Anna WANDLESS, now of Boston, but for some time chief clerk in Hall's bookstore here. The deceased was a proficient carpenter. - 'Gleaner'
Married (1) Rebecca J. daughter of Samuel BUTLER of Marysville, York Co., N.B. They lived at Milltown, Charlotte County, and she died 21 (22: stone) May 1885 at Newtonville, Mass., U.S.A. ( NB Reporter, 30 May 1885) aged 29y 8m. bd. United Church Cem., York Co., NB.
