4. John Grey b. 13 bp. 15 April 1816 Cheviot Street U.P., Wooler. Parents of Torvilaws, parish Wooler. Son of Andrew Grey and Mary Watson.  Signed the 26 November 1836 letter to the residents of Wooler recommending the Stanley settlement, and the letter of 13 September 1838 urging the Company to obtain a physician and surgeon for the settlement (C.O. 188/60, f. 152).   He appears to have purchased Lot 6 at Lime Kiln from the Land Company on 13 May 1848, but his name was crossed out and replaced with that of his brother Robert (PANB, MC1284, MS3a, pp. 81-82).
