54. James Alexander Embleton . Son of George Embleton & Jane Wilson. Born 2 Dec 1871 in Tweedside. Died 13 Sep 1959 in North Surrey, B.C.

    They lived in North Surrey, B. C., and had two children.

    He married Jane Victoria "Jennie" Moody, daughter of James Moody & Matilda Lyons, 25 Feb 1897 in Harvey Presbyterian Church Records. Born 24 Sep 1876 in Acton, Manners Sutton, NB.

    (Witnesses to marriage were Richard Moody and Annie Embleton.)

    From newspaper item - 1897:    "Mr Jas Embleton, of the Lake Road, and Miss Jennie Moody of Acton, were married at the home of the bride on Thursday, 25th inst.   The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. A. McLean."

    They had the following children:

55. Cecilie Ann Embleton . Daughter of George Embleton & Jane Wilson. Born 29 May 1873 in Tweedside. Died 19 Dec 1873.

 

56. John Maynard Embleton . Son of George Embleton & Jane Wilson. Born 29 Sep 1874 in Tweedside. Died 1941.

    Not married.

 

57. Annie Cecilie Embleton . Daughter of George Embleton & Jane Wilson. Born 12 Sep 1876 in Harvey. Died 3 Mar 1915 in Lethbridge, Alberta.

    Lived in Lethbridge, Alberta, and died during childbirth, and the baby also died.   No children.

    She married Robert Embleton "Bob" Herbert, son of George Herbert & Isabel "Belle" Atcheson, 17 Dec 1913. Born 24 Feb 1876 in Harvey. Died 4 Feb 1953 in Lethbridge. Occupation Carpenter. Religion United Church.

    R. E. Herbert Passes at 76
    The death of Robert Embleton Herbert of 1702 6th Ave. S. occurred in St. Michael's hospital Friday after a two weeks' illness.   He was 76 years of age.

    Mr Herbert was born at Harvey Station, N.B., where he married before moving to Three Hills, Alberta.   After the death of his first wife, he moved to Lethbridge, where he re-married in 1918.   He was a carpenter by trade, and a member of Southminster United Church, York Lodge No. 119 of the Masons and a member of the Independent Order of Foresters.

    Surviving are his widow, the former Ethel C. Waterman; a son, Earle, and a daughter, Mrs Louise Ross, and two grandchildren all of Lethbridge.

    Funeral arrangements will be announced when completed by Martin Bros., directors of funeral service.
