53. Sarah Alena "Sadie" Wightman. Daughter of John Wightman & Ann Isabel "Annie" Messer. Born 16 Apr 1879 in Tweedside. Died 5 Oct 1968 in Swanhaven Nursing Home, Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    Mrs Sarah Grieve Laid to Rest

    Harvey Station -- The death of Mrs Sarah Alena Grieve, widow of the late Frederick A. Grieve, occurred at the Swanhaven Nursing Home, Harvey Station.   She was in her 90th year.

    She was born in Tweedside, the daughter and last surviving member of the family of the late John and Annie (Messer) Wightman.   Mrs Grieve is survived by five daughters, Mrs W. Bertis Cameron, Hampstead; Doris, Fredericton; Mrs J. Benjamin Swan, Harvey Station; Mabel, Ottawa, and Mrs Frank H. Fenderson, Calais, Me.; four grandchildren, Levurn Swan, David, Robert and Carolyn Fenderson; and several nieces and nephews.

    Following prayers at the home, the funeral service was held at St. Andrew's United Church, Harvey Station, Rev. W. L. Randall officiated assisted by Rev. S. R. Jackson.

    Pallbearers were Floyd and Murray Moffitt, Edwin Robison, Donald Hood, Earl Grieve and Neil MacMullin.   Interment was in the Harvey Community Cemetery.

    She married Frederick Andrew Grieve, son of John Henry "Jack" Grieve & Charlotte Isabella "Belle" Coburn, 22 Dec 1909 in Presbyterian Church, Harvey. Born 21 May 1880 in Harvey. Died 20 May 1968 in Swanhaven Nursing Home, Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer. Religion United Church.

    Fred was a farmer on Harvey Lake Road, next to his brother Oswald's farm.   Both farms were inherited from their father John Henry Grieve.

    Fred A. Grieve Laid To Rest

    Harvey -- Frederick Andrew Grieve, a life-long resident of Harvey Station, died at the age of 88 at Swanhaven Nursing Home.   He was the son of the late John H. Grieve and Isabelle Coburn Grieve.

    He is survived by his wife, the former Sarah Alena Wightman and five daughters:   Mrs W. Bertis Cameron (Hazel), Hampstead; Doris, Fredericton; Mrs J. Benjamin Swan (Olive), Harvey Station; Mabel, Ottawa; and Mrs Frank Fenderson (Ruby), Calais, Maine; four grandchildren, Levurn Swan, David, Robert and Carolyn Fenderson.   Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs Walter Hood and Mrs Roy MacMullin, Prince William Station and one brother, Oswald C. Grieve, Harvey Station; several nieces and nephews.

    Following prayers at his residence the funeral service was held at St. Andrew's United Church, Harvey Station.   Rev. W. L. Randall assisted by Rev. S. R. Jackson conducted the service.

    Pallbearers were Donald Hood, Neil and Medley MacMullin, Earl Grieve, Herbert Howell and Jack Hamilton, nephews of the deceased.

    Interment was in the Harvey Cemetery.

    They had the following children:
