18. Eleanor "Nell" Messer . Daughter of Walter Messer & Isabella Speedy. Born 19 Dec 1866 in Harvey. Christen in Harvey Presbyterian Church. Died 25 May 1940. Buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Falmouth, Maine.

 

   Nellie did not have children.

   She married Mr. Clark.

19. William D. Messer . Son of Walter Messer & Isabella Speedy. Born 8 Feb 1869 in Harvey. Christen in Harvey Presbyterian Church. Died 27 Jan 1935 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer. Religion Presbyterian.

     Lived in Harvey, York Co, NB. He died from falling off a hay load when he was 65 years of age.

    William D. Messer Dies From Injuries.   Fell >From Load of Hay and Never Regained Consciousness.

    Harvey Station, N.B. Jan 28 -- William D. Messer, of Coburn, who was seriously injured on January 17th when he fell from a load of hay, died yesterday at his home without fully regaining consciousness.   He was 65 years of age.

 

    The late Mr Messer was one of the best known men in this section of York County and was known in Fredericton and other parts of the Province.   He was a kind and courteous man, a good neighbour and father and many will regret his passing.

 

    On January 17th last he was assisting his son in some hay hauling operations and was sitting on the load when the horses suddenly stopped and he was thrown from the load to the ground, receiving injuries to his head which caused him to lose consciousness.   He never rallied and the end came yesterday afternoon.   He is survived by his widow, formerly Miss Frances Wilson, two daughters, Mrs John Piercy, McAdam, and Mrs Odbur Grant, of Canterbury; one son, Edwin Messer, at home; four sisters, Mrs Thomas McFarlane, South Tweedside; Mrs I. S. Haines, Portland, Me.; Mrs Nellie Clark, Portland, Me.; Mrs A. J. Fisher, Boston; four brothers, Thomas and Allan J. Messer, of Harvey; James P. of Coverdale, BC, and Walter A. of Portland, Me.   Two grandchildren also survive.

 

    He married Frances "Fanny" Wilson, daughter of Robert Wilson & Elizabeth "Betsy" Torrance, 19 May 1897 in York Co., NB . Born 6 May 1878 in Harvey Sta. Died 5 Aug 1963 in Harvey Community Hospital. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

 

     Fanny died 5 Aug 1963, age 85 yr 2 mo 30 days.

     They had the following children:

20. James R. Messer . Son of Walter Messer & Isabella Speedy. Born 22 May 1871 in Harvey. Christen in Harvey Presbyterian Church. Died 23 Feb 1959 in New Westminister, BC. Buried in BC.

 

    Lived in British Columbia. Died 23 Feb 1959, New Westminister, BC.   (BCVR Death Registration 59-09-003190.   FHLF 2033298)

 

    He married Lillian May "Lily" Ranford, 27 Jan 1926.

 

    They had the following children:
