2. Susanna Nesbitt . Daughter of John Nesbitt & Ann Reavely. Born 12 Feb 1816 in Wooler, Eng. Christen 25 Feb 1816 in Wooler, United Presbyterian Cheviot St.--NC. Died 20 May 1897 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Religion Presbyterian.

     Susanna died at age 81 years 3 months and 9 days.

   She married Alexander Hay Jr., son of Alexander Hay & Jane Robinson, 2 Dec 1844 in Harvey Settlement By Rev. Daniel McCurdy . Born 1818 in Eng. Christen 25 Nov 1818 in Spittal United Presbyterian. Died 10 May 1887 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer, Teacher. Religion Presbyterian.

    PANB Marriage Records F635, p. 265:   Alexander Hay and Suzanna Nesbit on Dec 2, 1844 by Daniel McCurdy, witnesses Thomas Nesbit, John Hay, Jane Nesbit.

    1881 Census lists Alexander's occupation as Teacher.

    They had the following children:

3. Thomas Nesbitt . Son of John Nesbitt & Ann Reavely. Born Approx 1817 in Eng. Christen 28 Sep 1817 in Wooler, United Presbyterian Cheviot Street--NC. Died 20 May 1882 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer, Carpenter. Religion Presbyterian.

    Thomas came to NB in 1837 with his parents and siblings, and were among the pioneer settlers of Harvey Settlement.

    From NB Royal Gazette, 1 May 1839:   "Married 27th ult. by Rev. J. Birkmyre, Thomas Nesbit and Miss Isabella Cockburn, both of Fredericton parish, York Co."

    From York Co NB Marriage Register B 1837-1850 (PANB):   Witnesses to marriage were George Roberts and Susanna Nesbit.

    According to 1851 Census, Thomas was a carpenter, and living in Fredericton.   The 1861 Census has the family living in Manners Sutton parish, and Thomas was a farmer and carpenter.   In 1861 they owned or occupied 30 acres improved land and 220 acres unimproved land; cash value of farm 120 pounds; value of implements and machinery, 6 pounds.   They had 2 horses, 3 milch cows, 3 other neat cattle, 9 sheep, 2 swine, and slaughtered 150 lb. pork.   Produced 150 lb. butter; 34 lb. wool; 14 tons hay; 100 bu. oats; 50 bu. buckwheat; 3 bu. peas, 20 bu. timothy; 50 bu. turnips and 100 bu. potatoes.

    Inscription on gravestone in Harvey Settlement Cemetery:   "God is Love, Asleep in Jesus.   Sacred to the memory of Thomas Nesbitt, died May 20, 1882 aged 63 years, also Charlotte Nesbitt, died June 21, 1861 aged 7 years."

    He married Isabella Cockburn (Coburn), daughter of John Cockburn (Coburn) & Elizabeth "Betsy" Lesley, 27 Apr 1839 in St. Paul's Church, Fredericton By John Birkmyre . Born Approx 1813 in Eng. Died 15 May 1884 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    Inscription on gravestone in Harvey Settlement Cemetery:   "In memory of Mother, wife of Thomas Nesbitt, died May 15, 1884 aged 71 years.   Have faith in God"

     They had the following children:
