44. Elizabeth Piercy "Lizzie" Lister . Daughter of James M. Lister & Eleanor "Ellen" Piercy. Born 4 May 1873 in Harvey. Died 16 Nov 1956 in McAdam. Buried in Rockland Cemetery, McAdam.

    McAdam Resident Passes at Home

    McAdam (Special) -- The death of Mrs Elizabeth Piercy occurred at McAdam after a short illness.   She was 83 years of age.   Her husband predeceased her.

    Mrs Piercy was born at York Mills, a daughter of the late James and Eleanor Lister and came to McAdam in 1901.   Since then she has been a devout member of St. Paul's United Church and its organizations.

    In the community she will be remembered for her untiring work and service in the Red Cross and for which she was awarded the Red Cross Service Badge.   She held life membership in the Sewing Circle of St. Paul's United Church, was a member of the Women's Missionary Society, and taught Sunday School for several years.

    Mrs Piercy is survived by four sons, Harry and Frank of McAdam; Donald, Ottawa; Walter, Kingston; two brothers; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces andnephews.

    Funeral services were conducted from the residence to St. Paul's United Church with Rev. James Adamson officiating.   Pallbearers were James O. Piercy, Clarence Swan, Haris Murray, Howard Little, Ward Little, Arnold Little.

    She married James Piercy, son of Walter Piercy & Sarah Swan, 3 Aug 1898 in York Co., NB. Born 18 Apr 1869 in Harvey. Died 27 Sep 1947 in McAdam. Buried in Rockland Cemetery, McAdam. Occupation Meat & General Grocery Store. Religion United Church.

    James Piercy Died In McAdam

    McAdam, Sept 29 -- (Special) -- The death of James Piercy of McAdam occurred at his home early on Saturday morning.   Mr Piercy had been in ill health for the last three months, but his death was sudden.

   He was born at Coburn, York County and in 1898 was united in marriage to Elizabeth Lister of York Mills, who survives him.   He came to McAdam to reside about 45 years ago, and opened a meat and general grocery store, which he ran up to about 11 years ago when he retired.   He was a member of St. Paul's United Church, and a past worshipful master of Ashlar Lodge No. 36 F. and A.M. of McAdam.   During his long business career in this town, he made many friends who will learn with regret of his death.

    He is survived by his wife and four sons, Harry, McAdam; Walter, Kingston, Ont.; Franklin, Cartier, Ont; Donald, Ottawa; and one daughter, Miss Nellie Piercy, McAdam; three grandchildren, two brothers, Harry, Vancouver Island, B.C.; Matt, Loma, Montana; a twin sister, Mrs John E. Coburn, Harvey and another sister, Mrs Thomas Burrell, Tweedside, and a large number of nieces and nephews.

45. Matthew Henry "Harry" Lister . Son of James M. Lister & Eleanor "Ellen" Piercy. Born 30 Jan 1876 in Harvey. Died 6 Apr 1887 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

46. David Edward Lister . Son of James M. Lister & Eleanor "Ellen" Piercy. Born 14 Aug 1878 in Harvey. Died 10 Jan 1964 in Harvey Community Hospital. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    David E. Lister's Death Occurs At Harvey

    McAdam -- The death of David Edward Lister of McAdam occurred yesterday at the Harvey Community Hospital at the age of 85.

    A native of Harvey Station, he was a son of the late James and Ellen (Piercy) Lister.   He was a member of St. Paul's United Church.

    He is survived by his wife, the former Louise Coffey of Harvey Station; two daughters, Mrs Harold MacDonald, McAdam and Mrs Guy Hodgson, Long Beach, California; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

    The body is resting at the home of his daughter, Mrs MacDonald, Lake Avenue, McAdam.   The funeral will be held with prayers at the home on Sunday and then to St. Paul's United Church for service at 2:30 pm, conducted by Rev. J. M. Fraser.

    Interment will be in the Harvey Cemetery.

    He first married Minnie Gertrude J. Coburn, daughter of James "Jim" Coburn & Elizabeth H. "Bessie" Swan, 26 Jun 1901 in York Co., NB . Born 7 Oct 1881 in Harvey Sta. Died 9 Feb 1910. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    They had the following children:

    He second married Louise Edith Coffey, daughter of Richard Coffey & Elizabeth Ann Dorcas, 26 Mar 1927. Born 17 Dec 1878 in Acton, NB. Died 7 Sep 1972 in Swanhaven Nursing Home, Harvey Sta. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    Died 7 Sep 1972, age 93 yr 8 mo 21 days, at Swanhaven Nursing Home, Harvey Sta.
