77. Cecil Clarence Rutherford . Son of James Rutherford & Sarah Frances Speedy. Born 30 Apr 1897 in Tweedside . Died 7 Jan 1971 in St. Joseph Hospital, Courtenay, B.C. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

 

    From newspaper obituary, undated:

    Cecil Rutherford

    Funeral services were held recently for Cecil C. Rutherford, who died in hospital at Courtenay, British Columbia, after a short illness.

 

    Mr Rutherford was born at Tweedside in 1897, the son of the late James and Sarah (Speedy) Rutherford.   He spent the greater part of his life in British Columbia, and is survived by two brothers, Thomas, of Tweedside, Vincent in Martinon and several nieces and nephews.

 

    The service was conducted at the home of the deceased's brother, Thomas in Tweedside with Rev. S. R. Jackson officiating.   Interment took place in the rural cemetery.   Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased, Donald Swan, Claude Swan, Milford Coburn, Cecil Coburn, Glendon Rutherford and Raymond Rutherford.

 

78. Amy Rutherford . Daughter of James Rutherford & Sarah Frances Speedy. Born 16 May 1900 in Tweedside. Died 24 May 1900. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

 

    From Church records:   Rutherford child died 24 May 1900, age 8 days, child of Jas and Sarah Rutherford.

 

79. Vincent Earl Rutherford . Son of James Rutherford & Sarah Frances Speedy. Born 15 Jan 1905 in Tweedside, NB . Died 11 Feb 1982 in Saint John Regional Hospital. Buried in Maces Bay Cemetery.

 

    Vincent and Rhoda lived in Martinon, NB, and had two children.

 

    From The Telegraph Journal, 13 Feb 1982:

    RUTHERFORD -- At the Saint John Regional Hospital (Western), Feb 11, 1982, Vincent E. Rutherford of Martinon, husband of the late Rhoda (Corscadden) Rutherford; survived by two sons, three grandchildren.

 

    Resting at the Castle Funeral Home (Fallsview), 309 Lancaster Avenue until 12 noon Monday when the body will be taken to St. Giles United Church, Martinon for service at 2 pm.   Interment in the Maces Bay Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Giles United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.   Visiting from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

 

    He married Rhoda Corcilla Corscadden, 1934. Born 12 Aug 1904. Died 26 Sep 1981.

 

    They had the following children:
