Thomas Messer Dead. Well Known Resident of Harvey Station Died at Home of Nephew.
Harvey Station, April 6 -- Friends of Thomas Messer will learn with regret of his passing on March 28th, at the home of his nephew, Ezra Messer, Coburn, N.B. He was ill for a few days of grippe and complications and his death came as a shock to his relatives and friends. He was 78 years of age, a son of the late Walter and Isabelle (Speedy) Messer, and had spent his life here. Mr Messer is survived by four sisters and three brothers, Mrs Haines and Mrs Nellie Clark of Portland, Me.; Mrs S. Fisher of Boston; Mrs Thomas McFarland of South Tweedside; Walter Messer of Portland, Me.; James Messer living in British Columbia and J. Allen Messer of Harvey Station. The late William Messer of Coburn was also a brother.
The funeral was held on March 29th with a short service at the home of Ezra Messer, followed by a public service at 2.30 at Knox Presbyterian Church with Mr Gibson officiating. The choir sang favorite hymns. Pall-bearers were six nephews, Wallace Wood, Ezra Messer, Edwin Messer, Alexander Wood, Basil Messer and Linton Vail. Interment was made in Harvey cemetery.
