25. Verden Miller Brown . Son of Thomas Messer Brown & Isabelle Miller. Born 13 Jan 1913 in Thomaston Corner. Died 4 Oct 2003 in Oromocto Public Hospital. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    BROWN, VERDEN MILLER

    Verden M. Brown of Harvey, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2003 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born at Thomaston Corner on January 13, 1913, he was a son of the late Thomas and Isabelle (Miller) Brown. Verden was a very special person to his family and friends and will be dearly missed. He was employed with the CPR for 17 years and then with the Saint John Dry Dock where he worked as a carpenter-joiner, retiring in 1976. He enjoyed planting a yearly vegetable garden, working with his tractor, puttering in his workshop and playing a game of 45's.

 

    He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary J. (McGillicuddy) Brown; two daughters, Mary Anne Nason (Roy), McAdam and Cathy McGee (Robin), Newmarket; five grandchildren, Dale Nason (Heather), Sherri Robichaud (Jamie), Carla Nason (Bobby), Adele and Erin McGee; three great grandchildren, Kayla, Rebecca and Riley; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

    Verden was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lesley McGee, five sisters, Lena Steen, Pearl Titus, Elizabeth Carruthers, Margaret Brown and Mildred Saunders and two brothers, George Brown and Milton Brown.

 

    Resting at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station with visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clements Roman Catholic Church, McAdam on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. William Brennan. Interment will be in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    He married Mary McGillicuddy. Born 31 Mar 1915.
