32. Ward Patterson Gass . Son of Thomas "Marshall" Gass & Elizabeth "Lizzie" Brown. Born 30 Aug 1902 in York Mills. Died 27 Aug 1987 at Oromocto Lake, Harvey. Buried in Brockway Union Cemetery. Occupation CPR Employee.

 

       From The Daily Gleaner, 29 Aug 1987:

    GASS:   At his residence, Oromocto Lake, August 27, 1987, Mr Ward Patterson Gass of 23 Beech Street, McAdam, NB.   Survived by his wife Alice (Bunnie), three daughters, Eileen Essensa of McAdam, Marjorie Rosa of Woburn, Mass., Paula Vincent of Saint John, one son Donald of Riverview, NB, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, one brother Oswald of Saint John, one sister Emma Lister of Kentville, NS, several nieces and nephews.

 

    Resting at his residence McAdam, NB.   Funeral service to be held from St. Paul's United Church, McAdam, NB, on Saturday at 2:30 pm.   Interment in the Union cemetery, Brockway, NB.   Funeral arrangements made by the S. O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen.

 

    Excerpt from obituary in The Telegraph Journal, 2 Oct 1987:

    Ward P. Gass

    McAdam --   Funeral service for Ward Patterson Gass was held at St. Paul's United Church here, with Rev. David Chesney officiating.

 

    He died at his summer residence on Aug 27 at the age of 84.   Born in York Mills, he was a son of the late Marshall and Elizabeth (Brown) Gass.

 

    Prior to his retirement in 1967, he was employed with the Canadian Pacific Railway in McAdam and St. Andrews.   He was a member of the Carmen's Lodge.     .........

 

    He married Alice Marion "Bunny" Davis, daughter of Warren L. Davis & Margaret Ann "Maggie" Thomas. Born 25 Jun 1910. Died 11 Aug 1997.

 

    They lived in McAdam, and had four children.

 

    They had the following children:
