44. George Walter Brown . Son of George "Sterling" Brown & Mary Anne Milligan. Born 7 Aug 1914.

    Lives on the homestead farm in York Mills.

 

    He married Ida Marion Robison, daughter of Andrew "Dan" Robison & Frances Miller, 20 Aug 1941 in United Church Manse, Harvey Station. Born 2 Aug 1911 in Harvey. Died 17 Oct 1985 in DECH, Fredericton. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

 

    From newspaper item - 1941:

    Married at Harvey Station

    A quiet wedding was solemnized at the United Church manse, Harvey Station, on Wednesday evening, Aug 20th 1941, when Miss Ida Marion, daughter of Mrs Andrew Robison and the late Mr Robison, was united in marriage with George Walter Brown, son of Mr and Mrs Sterling Brown, York Mills, Rev. Ross C. Robbins officiating.

    Ida Brown

    Funeral services were held recently at Swan's Funeral Home in Harvey Station for Ida (Robison) Brown.   Rev. David Chesney officiated at the service, assisted by Rev. William Randall.

 

    The daughter of Andrew (Dan) and Frances (Miller) Robison, she was a graduate of the Provincial Normal School.   She worked for several years as a teacher.

 

    She was married to George W. Brown, a Jersey breeder, for 44 years.   She was widely known for her association with the dairy industry as well as the lumbering business.   She was a 4-H leader for several years.   She was a member of the United Church, the UCW, the York Mills Club and senior citizens.   She took an active part in community affairs.

 

    She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs Wayne Beckett (Mary Lou), of Fredericton; a son Stephen, of Harvey Station; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs Hugh Thomas (Dorothy) of Harvey Station and Mrs Henry McGibbon (Louise) of Oregon, Wis.; a brother, Marshall Robison, of Harvey Station.   She was predeceased by a sister, Mrs John A. Young (Phyllis), who died in 1951.

 

    Pallbearers were Blane Thomas, Douglas Robison, John Robison, Laurence Swan--all nephews--and Allison Gass and Robert J. Curtis.   Interment was in the Harvey Community Cemetery.

 

    They had the following children:
