53. Annie Norah Burrell . Daughter of Alexander Smith Burrell & Eleanor "Ellen" Coburn. Born 11 Sep 1897 in Harvey. Died 7 Jul 1979 in Saint John, NB.

    She married Harry Leroy Hicks, son of Edward Hicks & Martha Mountain, 2 Sep 1925 in Manners Sutton, York Co., NB. Born 14 May 1902 in Cookville, N.B. Died 13 Sep 1995 in Burnaby Hospital, B.C. Buried in Kirkhill Cemetery, Sussex.

    HICKS

    At Burnaby Hospital on Wednesday, September 13, 1995, Mr Harry Leroy Hicks of Burnaby, B.C.   Born at Cookville, N.B., on May 14, 1902, he was the son of the late Edward and Martha (Mountain) Hicks.   Mr Hicks is the husband of the late Annie (Burrell) Hicks who passed away in 1979.   He is survived by two sons, Roy L. Hicks and his wife Ruth of Mississauga, Ont., Edward Hicks and his wife Bernice of Burnaby, B.C., one sister Jean Colburne of West Yarmouth, Mass., U.S.A., five grandchildren Shirley, Barbara, Heather, Elaine and Susan, one great grandchild, Patrick as well as one niece and one nephew.   He was predeceased by two sisters, Ella and Effa and one granddaughter Elizabeth.

 

    Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, with visitation Sunday, September 17, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.   Funeral service to be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Monday.   Rev. Bob Hussey officiating.   Interment at Kirkhill Cemetery.

54. Wallace "Hazen" Burrell . Son of Alexander Smith Burrell & Eleanor "Ellen" Coburn. Born 21 Jul 1901 in Harvey. Died 11 Oct 1983 in Saint John Regional Hospital. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer.

    BURRELL:   At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Tuesday, October 11, 1983, Hazen Wallace Burrell of St. Stephen, in his 83rd year.   Survived by his wife Mildred Coburn Burrell, one step son, one step daughter and three nephews.

    Resting at Swans Funeral Home, Harvey Station, where prayers will be held for the family on Friday at 1:30, followed by services at St. Andrews United Church at 2 pm.

    He first married Florence Pearl "Flossie" Coburn, daughter of Walter Henderson Coburn & Mary Matilda Brockway, 6 Jun 1926 in Manners Sutton, York Co., NB . Born 12 Sep 1901 in Harvey. Died 20 Jul 1969 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Religion United Church Of Canada.

    Died 20 Jul 1969, age 67 yr 10 mo 8 days, died at home.

    Mrs F. Burrell

    Harvey Station -- Funeral service for the late Mrs Florence Burrell, wife of Hazen Burrell, Harvey Station, whose death occurred at the residence at the age of 67, was held from St. Andrews United Church, Harvey Station, with Rev. William L. Randall officiating, assisted by Rev. S. R. Jackson.

    Pallbearers were Eugene Wormell, Byron Hanselpacker, James Coburn, Kay Craig, Charles Grieve and Russel Moffitt.

    Interment was in Harvey Community Cemetery.

    She was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Walter Coburn of Harvey Station.   Prior to her marriage, Mrs Burrell had been a school teacher.   She was extremely active in all phases of church and community affairs, having been president of the United Church Women for several years and a member of St. Andrews United Church choir.

    Surviving are her husband and two sisters, Mrs Carl Wormell of St. Stephen and Mrs Douglas Speedy of Harvey.

    He second married Mildred Elizabeth Coburn, daughter of Walter Henderson Coburn & Mary Matilda Brockway. Born 15 Jul 1903 in Harvey. Died 2 Feb 1991 in St. Stephen. Buried in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.

     BURRELL

    At Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, on February 2, 1991, Mrs Mildred Elizabeth Burrell, of RR#3, St. Stephen.   Survived by one son, Eugene Wormell of St. Stephen, one daughter Lorraine Duriez of Edmonton, Alberta, seven grandchildren, one sister and great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  

    Resting at S. O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, where funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 pm.   Interment in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.
