104. George "Herbert" Cleghorn. Son of Robert "Bob" Cleghorn & Mary Jane James. Born 13 Dec 1895 in South Tweedside. Died 30 Sep 1979. Occupation Farmer, Carpenter, Lumberman.

George H. Cleghorn
The funeral of George Herbert Cleghorn was held at the United Church, Nashwaak Village with Rev Joseph Manchester officiating.

Born at Tweedside, he was a son of the late Robert and Mary (James) Cleghorn. He was a a retired equipment operator with the New Brunswick government and was a member of the United Church at Nashwaak Village. He was a member of LOL No. 71, Durham Bridge.
He is survived by his wife Frances (Clayton); two sons, Allan of Durham Bridge and Donald of Etobicoke, Ont.; two daughters, Mrs Clifford Johnston (Mae) and Mrs Lorne Seeley (Shirley), both of Durham Bridge; four brothers, Chester and Harry of Tweedside, Ray of Temperance Vale and Stewart of Woodstock, one sister Helen, Saint John; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter Eunice and two sons, Charles and Howard.

The pallbearers were Douglas Cleghorn, Robert Cleghorn, Richard Cleghorn, William Cleghorn, Donald Johnston and Rodney Seeley.
Interment was in the United Church cemetery.

He married Frances Mary Howe Clayton. Born 10 May 1898 in Maple Grove. Died 12 Oct 1993 in York Manor, Fredericton. Buried in Centennial United Cemetery, Nashwaak Village.

Frances M. H. Cleghorn
Frances Mary Howe Cleghorn of York Manor, and formerly of Durham, died at her residence on Tuesday, Oct 12, 1993. She was 95. Born in Maple Grove, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Abigail (VanHorne) Clayton. She was a teacher and housewife, and was a member of the Nashwaak Village United Baptist Church. She was also church organist and a Sunday school teacher at Centennial United Church, Nashwaak Village. She was a member of the L.O.B.A., the Women's Institute and the Women's Missionary Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Mae Johnston of Durham Bridge and Shirley King and her husband Bev, also of Durham Bridge; one son, Donald and his wife Pearl of Toronto; one daughter-in-law, Ruth Cleghorn of Tweedside; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, George Herbert Cleghorn; one daughter Eunice; three sons, Howard, Charles and Allan; and two brothers, Howard and Allan.
The family will receive visitors today from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Thursday from 7-9 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Friday from the Centennial United Church, Nashwaak Village, Rev. David Cleveland officiating. Interment will take place in the Centennial United Cemetery.
