105. Edward "Raymond" Cleghorn. Son of Robert "Bob" Cleghorn & Mary Jane James. Born 7 Apr 1897 in South Tweedside. Died 2 Apr 1982 in DECH, Fredericton. Buried in Temperance Vale Cemetery. Occupation Farmer, Road Supervisor.

Also in photograph is Arthur Cleghorn RN 3258545 (son of George "Frederick" Cleghorn #62) and two Anderson boys. Photograph taken after they had been inducted into the army but before they received their uniforms. They were all inducted on the same day.

E. Raymond Cleghorn
E. Raymond Cleghorn of Temperance Vale died Friday at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. He was 84. He was born in Harvey, the son of the late Robert and Mary (James) Cleghorn.
He lived in Grafton until 1941 when he moved to Temperance Vale. He farmed until his retirement in 1970. He was road supervisor at Millville for nine years. He was a member and deacon of the Temperance Vale United Baptist Church and a former school trustee.
He is survived by his wife, the former Freda Woodman; two daughters: Mrs John Deweyert (Marilyn), Temperance Vale and Mrs Delmont Stairs (Jolene), Brampton, Ont.; one son Robert, at home; two brothers, Stewart, Grafton and Chester, Tweedside, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Mrs Doris McArthur and four brothers.
Resting at Flewellings Funeral Home, Otis Drive, Nackawic until Sunday noon. Funeral services will be held at the Temperance Vale United Baptist Church on Sunday at 2:30 pm with Rev. Jerry Cole officiating. Interment in Temperance Vale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Edison Moores, Harry Pike, Osburne STairs, Fraser Pike, Eric MacElwain and John MacElwain.

He married Freda Beatrice Woodman, daughter of Charles Edward Woodman & Ida Janet Corey. Born 6 Feb 1901 in Temperance Vale. Died 4 Jan 2000 in Temperance Vale. Buried in Temperance Vale Cemetery. Occupation Teacher, Housewife. Religion United Baptist Church.
Freda was a school teacher and Ray was a farmer. They lived in Temperance Vale and in Grafton, Carleton Co, NB.

CLEGHORN, Freda Beatrice
Freda B. Cleghorn of Temperance Vale died Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at her home. She was 98. Born at Temperance Vale, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Corey) Woodman. Freda was a teacher, a housewife and when she was younger was called by neighbors and friends at the time of illness to assist in their care. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Society and the Temperance Vale United Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher and choir member.
She is survived by a son, Robert Cleghorn, Temperance Vale; a daughter, Marilyn Deweyert and husband John, Temperance Vale; two sons-in-law, Robert McArthur, Oromocto and Delmont Stairs, Southampton; a sister Zella Tinkham, Oscala, Fla; four grandchildren, Bonnie Mason and husband Paul, Red Deer Alberta; Wayne Deweyert and wife Marianne, Woodstock, Ont.; Maxine Gilbey and husband Dale, Fredericton; Ted Deweyert and wife Karla, Holmesville; six great grandchildren Chris and Jon Mason; Darci and Jonathan Gilbey and Andrew, Nicole, Claire and Anne Deweyert; several nieces and nephews.

Freda was predeceased by her husband Raymond Cleghorn, two daughters, Doris McArthur and Joleen Stairs; two grandsons, Alan and Dennis McArthur; four sisters, Bessie Stephenson, Laura Trail, Frances Carmichael and Hazel Murray.

Resting at Flewelling's Funeral home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours Wednesday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 6, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the Temperance Vale United Baptist Church, Rev. Douglas Phillips officiating. Interment will be at Temperance Vale Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Osborne Stairs, Herbert Corey, Dearing Priest, Bun Veysey, Harland Cook and Ralph Brown. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Freda, the family has suggested the Temperance Vale United Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
