21. Isabella Little . Daughter of James Little & Isabella "Belle" Herbert. Born 31 Dec 1849 in Harvey. Died 10 Oct 1919. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    She married Joseph Twizell Embleton, son of George Embleton & Elizabeth Twizell, 25 Mar 1870 in Manse Of St. Paul's Church, Fredericton. Born 17 Feb 1845 in Harvey. Christen 22 Mar 1845 in Harvey By Rev. Daniel McCurdy . Died 14 Aug 1904. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer.

    Witnesses to marriage were Janet Longuill and Catharine McCurdy.

    Joseph Embleton and Miss Isabella Little, both of Manners Sutton, were married at the manse of St. Paul's Church, Fredericton, on 25 March 1870, by Rev. William Fogo of Nashwaak.   (From Colonial Farmer, Fredericton - 2 Apr 1870.)

    From York County, New Brunswick, Marriage Records, Book D, 1866-1879, compiled by Elizabeth Sewell 2001, marriage date is given as 5 Mar 1870.    Not sure which date is correct.

    She married Thomas Nesbitt, son of George Nesbitt & Elizabeth Embleton, 9 Oct 1872 in Harvey, York Co., NB By Rev Samuel Johnson . Born 1848 in Harvey. Christen 28 May 1848 in Harvey By Rev. Daniel McCurdy. Died 9 Sep 1919 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer.

    From Daily News, Saint John, 16 Oct 1872:   "Thomas Nesbitt and Miss Janet Little were married on 9 Sept 1872 at the residence of the bride's father, by Rev. Samuel Johnson."

    From York County, New Brunswick, Marriage Records, Book D, 1866-1879 compiled by Elizabeth S. Sewell 2001, the marriage date is 9 Oct 1872-- unsure which is correct date.

    Witnesses to marriage were Margaret Little and David Campbell.

    She married Frederick Johnson, 2 Jul 1884 in York Co., NB By Robert Nevin, Presbyterian . Born 18 Jan 1856. Died Apr 1933. Buried in Brockway Cemetery.

    Witnesses to marriage were James L. Little and Annie F. Parker.

    Fred was the son of Freeman Johnson.   Fred and Margaret lived in Brockway.

    They had the following children:

24. Thomas "Herbert" Little . Son of James Little & Isabella "Belle" Herbert. Born 21 Apr 1856 in Harvey. Died 16 Jun 1924 in McAdam. Buried in Rockland Cemetery, McAdam.

    Herbert Little and his second wife, Margaret "Maggie" Wilkin, lived in Harvey until approximately 1916, then moved to McAdam.   They had five children:   Hugh, Jean, Geoffrey, Raymond and Nicholas.   For details of this family, see page 48, "The Little Family of Harvey Settlement 1786-1992" compiled by Janet Swan Watson, Brenda Saunders Swan and Jocelean Swan Hall.

    From newspaper obituary - 1924:

    Herbert Little

    McAdam, June 20 -- The death of Herbert Little occurred here on Monday morning June 16 after an illness of a few weeks.   Mr Little was born in Harvey, York County, 68 years ago where he spent the greater part of his life.   Eight years ago he moved to McAdam.   He leaves his wife, one daughter, Mrs Edward Young; four sons, Hugh, Geoffrey, Raymond and Nicholas, all of McAdam; also two sisters, Mrs Janet Nesbitt of Little Settlement; Mrs Fred Johnson of Lawrence Station; and four brothers, Robert, James, Frederick and George all of York Mills.

    The funeral took place from his home here on Tuesday, June 17 being largely attended both by people of McAdam and the outside districts.   Rev. George Bond, D.D. officiated.   The pallbearers were his four sons.

    He first married Margaret Bonnar, 2 Oct 1882 in York Co., NB By Rev. Dr. A. J. Mowatt. Born in Fredericton. Died 1883 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    Witnesses to marriage were Albert Little and Margaret Little.

    He second married Margaret L. "Maggie" Wilkin, daughter of Herbert Wilkin & Jane Gass, 2 Jun 1886 in Harvey Presbyterian Church Records By J. A. McLean . Born 12 Jul 1868 in Harvey. Died 1952. Buried in Rockland Cemetery, McAdam.

    Witnesses to marriage were George Little and Janet Wilkins.

    They had the following children:
