41. George "Charles" Rutherford. Son of John Rutherford & Elizabeth "Bessie" Wightman. Born 5 Jun 1876. Died 1 Feb 1956.

    Lived in Westfield, N.B.   No children.

    From newspaper item - 1934:

   Married at Saint John

   A marriage of interest took place at the home of the officiating clergyman, Rev. E. H. Cochrane, West Saint John, on Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. Miss Ella Maude Wilson, daughter of Mr and Mrs Emmerson R. Wilson, Newcastle, was united in marriage to Charles George Rutherford, Westfield, son of the late Mr and Mrs John Rutherford, Harvey Station.   The register was signed by Miss Ethel Stevenson and Arthur Parker.   After the ceremony the bridal party motored to the home of Mr and Mrs T. Rutherford, 19 Sea Street, West Saint John, where a reception was held.   At eleven o'clock dainty refreshments were served in the dining room, which was tastefully decorated, the color scheme being green and white.   After a short wedding trip in the northern part of the province the happy couple will reside in Westfield.

    He married Ella Maude Wilson, daughter of Emmerson R. Wilson, 10 Nov 1934 in West Saint John. Born in Newcastle.

Based on a mtDNA test result of direct maternal descendat Ellis Craig the haplogroup designation and HVR1 mutations of Mary Davison are provided below.
Since mtDNA is passed directly from mothers to their children with virtually no changes the test values obtained are generally applicable to all direct maternal descendants including grandson George "Charles" Rutherford.
