22. Julia Ann Cleghorn.
Daughter of George Cleghorn & Agnes Hogg. Born 22 Nov 1864 in South Tweedside. Died 23 Nov 1936.

Julia Ann was born in South Tweedside, She and her first husband, Jack Hay lived for a while in Patton, Maine. Her second husband, Dick Gallagher was a blacksmith, and worked for some time in Maine, later in Fredericton, then in Burtts Corner.
Julia Ann was buried in the Harvey Settlement Cemetery, but was later moved to Burtts Corner Cemetery.

Harvey Station -- The death of Julia Ann Gallagher beloved wife of Richard Gallagher, occurred at her home early Monday morning, Nov. 23rd, 1936 after a lingering illness. The late Mrs Gallagher was 72 years old and was a woman of fine qualities and well loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by friends and relatives. She leaves to mourn her husband, three daughters, Mae of Boston; Mrs Peter James of Saint John and Lenna of Boston, Mass. The funeral was held from her late home on Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock where prayers were said by Rev Mr Kirkland to Knox Presbyterian Church were service was conducted by Mr Kirkland. The hymns sung were Safe in the Arms of Jesus and Rock of Ages. The floral tributes were beautiful. The pall bearers were nephews of the deceased, Russell Cleghorn, Chester Cleghorn, Harry Cleghorn, Almont Cleghorn, Walter Cleghorn and Ferbie Cleghorn; surviving are two brothers, Sandy Cleghorn of Flume Ridge and Jack Cleghorn of South Tweedside. Interment was made in the Harvey Cemetery.

She first married John James "Jack" Hay, son of William "Billy" Hay & Sarah "Sally" Dorcas, 19 Sep 1887 in St. Paul's Church, Fredericton By Rev. A. J. Mowatt. Born Approx 1854 in Harvey. Occupation Farmer, Blacksmith.


Witnesses to marriage were Wm Mentrum and Bessie S. Mowatt.


They had the following children:

She second married Richard "Dick" Gallagher. Died 1 Nov 1943. Buried in Burtts Corner Cemetery. Occupation Blacksmith.
