133. James Hughan Little. Son of Alexander William Little & Agnes Little. Born 1 Jan 1879 in Harvey, York Co, NB. Died 20 Feb 1931 in Milltown, NB. Occupation Grocery Store.

 

    From newspaper obituary - 1931:

 

    DEATH OF JAMES H. LITTLE IS CAUSE OF WIDE SPREAD REGRET

    The death of James H. Little, aged 52, at his home in Milltown, after several months illness was heard with keen regret by his host of friends throughout the town and country, passing away on Friday morning, February 20th.  The deceased, born in Harvey, York County and with his family moved to Milltown about nine years ago, entering in the grocery business with Roy T. Speedy.

    In July 1929 the firm of Speedy and Little, as they were well and favourably known, dissolved partnership and Mr Little opened up a grocery store in St. Stephen where he continued to build up a successful business.  He was active in community life and while giving strict attention to business, he found time to give his services to church work and fraternal organizations.  He was a member of the Milltown school board  and deeply interested in the vocational committee work, and as a mark of honor the flag was at haf staff during funeral hours.

 

   He married Mary Jane "Minnie" Johnston, 29 Jun 1910 in New Westminister, BC . Born 4 Jan 1886. Died 7 Mar 1971.

    Minnie was the daughter of Edward Johnston and Christina Webb.  James and Minnie lived in Milltown, and operated a grocery store first in Milltown then in St. Stephen.  They had three children:  Verna, Laura and Lloyd.

    They had the following children:
