239. Heber Alexander Little. Son of Charles Little & Mary Ann Wilson (link to Wilson family pages). Born 12 Dec 1905 in Harvey. Died 9 Oct 1983 in Saint John Regional Hospital. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Religion United Church Of Canada.

 

    From The Telegraph Journal, 10 Oct 1983:

    Heber A. Little

    The death of Heber A. Little of Westfield, husband of Elma P. (Lingley) Little occurred Sunday at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness.

    Born in Harvey, York County, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Wilson) Little.  He has been a resident of Westfield since 1955, and was a member of Westfield United Church.

    He is survived by his wife, one nephew, one niece and several grand nephews and grand nieces.

    He will be resting at the Castle Funeral Home (Fallsview), 309 Lancaster Avenue until 9 pm today, when the body will be taken to Harvey to rest at Swan's Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 pm from St. Andrew's United Church in Harvey.  Visiting hours in Saint John are 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm today and 7 pm to 9 pm Tuesday in Harvey.

 

    He married Elma Pearl Lingley, 25 May 1955. Born 17 Apr 1902. Died 23 Apr 1993 in Saint John Regional Hospital. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    Elma was previously married to a Mr. Crandall.

 

    From The Daily Gleaner, 29 Apr 1993:

    LITTLE

    At the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 23, 1993, Elma Pearl Little of Westfield, Kings County, widow of Heber Little.  Survived by one daughter Jean (Mrs Walter Craft) of San Diego, California; one brother Kenneth Lingley of Viking, Alberta; one grandson, one great grandson, several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by three brothers, Keith, Sydney and Orville Lingley and one sister, Vida Forgey.

    Cremation took place at Fernhill crematorium to be followed by interment in Harvey Cemetery, Harvey, NB.  A memorial service will be held at the Westfield United Church on Saturday with service at 2 pm.  Arrangements by Castle Funeral Home (Fallsview), 309 Lancaster Avenue.
