216. Oscar Betts Little. Son of John "Albert" Little & Jane Agnes Lister (link to Lister pages). Born 28 Apr 1883 in Harvey. Died 4 Jan 1963 in Harvey Community Hospital. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer. Religion Universalist.

    Died 4 Jan 1963, age 79 yr 7 mo 6 days, at Harvey Community Hospital.

    Oscar and Eva were farmers on the land Oscar's father and grandfather farmed and which was later farmed by Oscar's son Roderick.

    O. B. LITTLE

    Harvey -- The funeral of Oscar Betts Little was held from the home here with service conducted by Rev. William Randall.  Favorite hymns were sung by Hugh and Blair Watson and Mr. Randall.  Pallbearers were Roy, Irvine, Sterling and Ronald Little, Earl Patterson and Wilbur Jones.  Interment was in Harvey Cemetery.

    Born at Harvey, he was a son of the late Albert and Jane Agnes (Lister) Little.  He was a farmer during most of his life and was a member of the Universalist Church.  His death occurred at Harvey Community Hospital following a short illness.  He was 79.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn Johnson of Lawrence Station; one son, Roderick of Harvey; one brother, Howard Little, York Mills; one sister, Mrs Lorne Coffey, Harvey, and four grandchildren.

 

    He married Evelyn Isabel "Eva" Johnson, daughter of Frederick Johnson & Margaret Little, 15 Nov 1923 in St. Stephen, NB. Born 21 Nov 1893 in Flume Ridge. Died 1 Nov 1993 in Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    At the Manse, St. Stephen, November 15, by Rev W. W. Malcolm, Oscar Betts Little of Coburn, NB, and Evelyn Isabelle Johnson of Lawrence Station.

 

    From the Daily Gleaner, 17 Nov 1993:

    Evelyn I. Little

    The funeral for Evelyn (Eva) I. Little, 99, of Pine Grove Manor, Fredericton, was held from Swan Funeral Home, Harvey Station, with Rev. Ruth Stewart officiating.

    Pallbearers were Seymour Johnson, Hugh Watson, Bernard (grandson), Leslie, Vaughn and Roy Little.  Interment was in the Harvey Community Cemetery.

    Born in Flume Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret (Little) Johnson.

    She is survived by one son Roderick and his wife Marilyn of Harvey Station, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
