270. Gilbert Edwin Little. Son of William Embleton Little & Emily Coburn (link to Coburn family pages). Born 15 May 1889 in Harvey Station. Died 2 Jul 1965 in Newburgh, Maine. Buried in Pine Tree Cemetery, Brownville. Occupation Employee Of CPR.

    Gilbert and Hazel lived at Brownville Junction, Maine, and had five children:  Lloyd, Marion, Irma, Vera and Harold.

    Milo, Me. -- Funeral services for Gilbert E. Little, 76, of Brownville Junction, Maine, were held at the Lory Funeral Home here with Rev Milton Smith of the Brownville Junction Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment was in the family lot in Pine Tree Cemetery, Brownville.

    Pallbearers were Royce Phinney, James McGrath, Dan Manzer and George Vail.

    Mr Little's death occurred at Newburgh, Maine, following a lengthy illness.

    Born at Harvey Station, he was a son of the late William and Emily (Coburn) Little.  A former employee of the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, he held membership in the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen.

    Surviving are one son, Sgt. Harold Little of the United States Marine Corps, San Diego, California; three daughters, Mrs George Hantke (Marion), Plainfield, New Jersey; Miss Emma Little, Milo, Maine; Mrs Merle Higgins (Vera), Hermon, Maine, six grandchildren; two brothers, Norman and Sterling, both of Harvey Station and several nieces and nephews.

 

    He married Hazel Marion Patterson, daughter of James "Wesley" Patterson & Isabelle "Belle" Nesbitt. Born 15 Mar 1897 in Harvey. Died 17 Nov 1952 in Bangor, Maine. Buried in Pine Tree Cemetery, Brownville, Maine.

    Mrs Hazel M. Little

    Mrs Hazel M. Little, 55, died Nov 17, in a Bangor hospital after a long illness.  She was born in Harvey, N.B., March 15, 1897, a daughter of the late Wesley and Mrs Isabelle (Nesbit) Patterson.

    Mrs Little is survived by her husband Gilbert; one son, Sgt. Harold Little of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; three daughters, Mrs Marion Hantke of Plainfield, N.J., Miss Erma Little of Milo, and Mrs Vera Higgins of Levant; and her mother; three sisters, Mrs Vera Bartlett, Mrs Janet Johnston and Mrs Mina Swan, all of Harvey, N.B.

    Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Methodist Church, Rev. Roy W. Moody officiating.  Interment was in Pine Tree cemetery.  (Brownville, Maine)
