Lila attended the Provincial Normal School in Fredericton in 1922/23 for her Second Class License. On July 1, 1925 she received her First Class. She taught in Lambertville, Deer Island; Brockway and in the Stanley area, completing five years before her marriage. Dan and Lila lived in Brownville Junction, Maine where Dan worked for the CPR. They had three children: Edwin, Phyllis and Olive. Lila died of meningitis.

The community was much grieved to learn that Mrs Daniel Manzer had died March 25 after a few days illness. Prayers were said Thursday evening by Rev. John Dunstan, attended by many friends. The remains were taken to her old home in Harvey, NB, accompanied by her family and the following friends: Mrs Matthew Coburn, Charles Coburn, Mrs Mary Smith, Mrs George Swan, Mrs Charles Hunter and Gilbert Little.

Mrs Manzer was a young woman of fine character and much loved. She leaves, besides her husband, three small children and other relatives. Deepest sympathy is felt for the husband and other relatives.

She married Daniel Edwin Coy Manzer, son of Willoughby Avens Manzer & Harriet "Hattie" Hay, 11 Jul 1928. Born 16 Oct 1897 in Nashwaak, N.B. Died 27 Mar 1969 in Bangor, Me. Occupation CPR, Brownville Jct., Me.

After his first wife, Lila died, Dan married secondly, Greta Mowat Shaw Culligan from New Maryland.

Brownville Junction -- Daniel C. Manzer, 72, died Saturday at a Bangor Hospital after a long illness.

He was born at Nashwaak, NB, Oct 16, 1897, the son of Willoughby and Harriet (Hay) Manzer. He was a member of Brownville Junct. Methodist Church, Pleasant River, Masonic Lodge at Brownville, Raboni Chapter of Milo, Central Council of Dover-Foxcroft, and St. John's Commandery of Bangor.

Surviving are his wife, Greta (Shaw) Manzer; one son Edwin of Cleveland, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs Rodger (Phyllis) Bickford of Wilmington, Del. and Mrs Clyde (Olive) Snow of Bucksport; two brothers, J. Avens Manzer of New Westminister, BC, and A. Ray Manzer of Harvey Station, NB; four sisters, Mrs Lola Lyons of Bangor, Mrs Annie Moffitt and Mrs Ella Moffitt, both of Harvey Station, and Mrs Allen (Eva) Tracey of Fredericton; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
