262. Jane Victoria Robison. Daughter of Stephen Robison (link to Robison family pages) & Mary Jane Little. Born 15 Apr 1881 in Harvey. Died 1 Feb 1964.

    Jane Victoria and her husband lived in British Columbia, and had eight children.  See page 293, "The Little Family of Harvey Settlement 1786 - 1992" for their children.

    She married John A. Sewell, 23 Mar 1904 in York Co., NB . Born 26 Feb 1882 in Lincoln, NB. Died 1974 in Burnaby, BC.

    J. A. Sewell

    A longtime resident of Proctor and Sunshine Bay area, John A. Sewell died at Burnaby General Hospital Tuesday, aged 92.

    Born in Lincoln, Sunbury County, NB on Feb 26, 1882, Mr Sewell came to Nelson in 1909 and worked in the Proctor lumber mill for A. E. Watts until the mill burned down.

    He then worked logging and pile driving on Kootenay Lake for several years before joining the CPR in 1917.  He worked on various sternwheelers and tugs on the Kootenay Lake and Okanagan Lake until his retirement in 1947.

    He purchased a fruit farm at Sunshine Bay in 1921 and lived there until selling in 1970.

    He was predeceased by his wife, Jane Victoria in 1964 and two daughters, Mrs Otto (Minnie) Yens and Mrs Albert (Cherrie) Fletcher. He is survived by four sons, Clarence B., Vancouver; Robert J., Prince George; Richard L., Victoria; and Thomas, Victoria; and two daughters, Mrs Joseph (Helen) Chell, Victoria; and Mrs William (Elizabeth) Hodge, Harrop; 21 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

    Cremation is to take place in Vancouver and a family memorial service is to be held later in Nelson.
