101. David Embleton. Son of Joseph Twizell Embleton (link to Embleton family pages) & Isabella Little. Born 9 Jul 1878 in Harvey. Christen 17 Aug 1878 in Harvey Presbyterian Church. Died 13 Mar 1946 in Coburn, NB. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer. Religion Presbyterian.

    D. Embleton Dead.  Well Known Resident of Coburn Died After Brief Illness--Many At Funeral.

    Harvey Station, NB, March 15 -- David Embleton, a highly esteemed and lifelong resident of this place passed away early Tuesday morning at his home at Coburn, following a brief illness.  He was the last member of his family and is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Carrie Little, and several nieces and nephews.

    The funeral was held yesterday afternoon and was largely attended.  A short service was held at the home at 2.30 o'clock followed by a public service in Knox Presbyterian Church, of which deceased was a member, and was conducted by Rev. W. E. Aitken, pastor of the United Church.

    The choir of Knox church sang by request, Nearer My God to Thee, and Sun of My Soul.  Charles Watson sang a solo Shadows.

    The pallbearers, chosen by deceased, were Norman Little, Irvine Little, Lewis Rutherford, Delbert Lister, James Nesbitt and Fred Piercy.  There were many lovely floral tributes.  Burial took place in Harvey cemetery.

    He married Carrie Jane Little, daughter of Ebenezer "Eben" Little & Mary Agnes Lister, 20 Oct 1920. Born 5 Apr 1886 in Harvey. Died 17 Jul 1958 in Victoria Public Hospital, Fredericton. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

 

    Farmer in Little Settlement.  Their home was a popular site for entertainment, Dave played the fiddle, and family and friends gathered to dance.  No children.
