192. Mary Ann "Annie" Little. Daughter of Ebenezer "Eben" Little & Mary Agnes Lister (link to Lister family pages). Born 16 May 1891 in Little Settlement, York Co., NB. Died 15 Jan 1978 in Saint John Hospital. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery.

    She married David "Arthur" Cunningham, 24 Sep 1919. Born 11 Sep 1886. Died 27 Jan 1962 in Harvey Station. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer, Small Grocery Store & Luncheonette.

    Arthur and Annie lived on a farm in Little Settlement for many years, then sold the farm and moved to Harvey.  In later years they operated a small store in the centre of the village and sold school supplies, candy and small groceries.

 

    From newspaper obituary - Jan 1962:

    Tribute Paid D. A. Cunningham

    Harvey -- The community of Harvey is mourning the loss of one of its most loved citizens in the death of D. Arthur Cunningham, who passed away suddenly at his home at the age of 75.

    Mr Cunningham was the operator of a small grocery store and luncheonette, and catered especially to the youngsters in the district.

    Mr Cunningham lived at Coburn until 1949 when he moved to Harvey to start a business of his own.

    He is survived by his wife, the former Annie Little; two daughters, Mrs Douglas Earl, Douglas Harbor and Mrs Dayton Davis, Acton; and six grandchildren.

    The funeral was held from the home in Harvey to St. Andrew's United Church where services were conducted by Rev. W. L. Randall, assisted by Rev. S. R. Jackson.  Hymns were sung by a mixed choir, with Blair Watson as soloist.  Mrs W. L. Randall was organist.  Pallbearers were Earl Lister, Gilbert Robison, Dell Lister, Ersel Corey, Maurice Lister and Ben Swan.  Members of the Hockey team of Harvey Regional High School attended in a group, and acted as flower-bearers.  Interment was in the Harvey cemetery.
